The programme, named Top Tech, will focus on three main areas: technology for sustainability, energy innovations and commercialization of technology, aiming to contribute to:

  • Improving the depth and breadth of DNV’s technical leadership so as to capitalize on technology-based business opportunities;
  • Making DNV state of the art in technology;
  • Accelerating the adoption of new technology at DNV;
  • Having a global thought leadership in risk management and climate change.

Top Tech is a collaboration between DNV and the University of California, Berkeley, and the programme is run at the Berkeley campus. This university was chosen because of its technical expertise, and because it already had the framework for such a programme.

The program at Berkeley will consist of lectures and discussions, case studies and visits by industry experts, small group projects and visits to corporations and technology centers – for benchmarking and learning.

The goal for the programme is to have diversity within areas of competence, gender, geography and age.
