We perform analysis and research on how changes in societal structures or new IT developments could affect enterprises and, in particular, the information and communication landscape. Globalisation of markets and industries, rapid technological advancement, effect of demographic changes combined with a shift to a more knowledge and information based economy are some of the key factors that stand central in shaping our R&D agenda.
The main tasks of our group are to identify areas holding future relevance for DNV, to suggest and initiate R&D projects, preferably with academic or industrial partners, and to prepare and transfer basis for new DNV solutions to respective business areas.
Through this work new knowledge is built up that gives us a distinct competence profile that is valuable for DNV stakeholder.

Industrial software

The way we build vessels and oil and gas installations has changed: Today, the amount of non-avoidable software and communication systems (ICT) has increased dramatically, and so have the possible implications of malfunctions.

Information Management & Security

Business processes are increasingly becoming digital with little or no use of paper documents. This raises new requirements for information management and security, in particular in a global setting.
