The agreement focuses on wells and clean-water projects. DNV will also be involved in the development of an emergency response unit for the extraction and use of ground water.

The prime objective of the agreement is to support and enable the Red Cross/Red Crescent’s humanitarian efforts and to increase DNV’s knowledge of the humanitarian conditions in the countries where it operates. The agreement focuses on wells and clean-water projects. DNV will also be involved in the development of an emergency response unit for the extraction and use of ground water.

The final decision to go for the Red Cross/Red Crescent agreement was made by the Executive Board, supported by the results of a survey conducted among all DNV employees. Entering such a partnership is also a part of DNV’s Corporate Social Responsibility Action Plan.

The Red Cross/Red Crescent’s objective is to “Protect, Prevent and Help”, which is well in line with “Safeguarding Life, Property and the Environment”.

Pride and enthusiasm
“With this partnership, we want to create pride and enthusiasm among DNV employees, build DNV’s brand and live DNV’s objective,” says CEO Miklos Konkoly-Thege.

The agreement will run for at least three years in order to demonstrate commitment from DNV’s side.

As well as gaining financial support, the Red Cross/Red Crescent will benefit from the greater cross-fertilisation of ideas for addressing complex problems, a greater and stronger advocacy of its mission, and practical help in delivering services.
